Advanced Notice of the Annual Parish Meeting and The Annual Meeting of the Parish Council on May 17th 2022

All the electors of the parish are invited to the scheduled meeting of :

The Annual Parish Meeting on Tuesday 17th May 2022 in Oare Village Hall

to be immediately followed by the Annual Meeting of the Parish Council.

To understand the purpose of these two similarly named meetings:

The Annual Parish Meeting is open to all electors of a town or parish, who have the right not only to attend but also to speak on any matter of local interest. It is not a parish council meeting but is run by the Chair of the Parish council. Please contact the clerk if you wish to participate.

The Annual Meeting of the Parish Council is held to do those things that only need doing once a year, such as electing a chairman, vice-chairman, committees, etc. This is a Parish Council Meeting. An agenda will be posted at least 3 clear days before this meeting.

 

The next Parish Council Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday March 15th 2022 in Wilcot Village Hall at 7-30pm

The next scheduled meeting of the Wilcot, Huish and Oare Parish Council is to be Tuesday, March 15th in Wilcot Village Hall at 7-30pm.

Please submit any questions to the Parish Clerk at least 5 days before this meeting. An agenda will be posted here at least 3 clear days before the meeting.

Notice of Road Closures 2022

Notice from Wiltshire Council
Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984
Temporary Closure of: C8 (Part), Alton Priors, Alton (TTRO 7720)
Notice is hereby given that Wiltshire Council has made an Order to close temporarily to all traffic:
C8 (Part), Alton Priors, Alton; from its junction with Browns Lane to its junction with Village Street.
To enable: Openreach to carry out repairs to customer service and associated maintenance works.
Alternative route: via C38 – A345 – C52 – Hare Street – C8 (unaffected length) and vice versa.
The closure and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.
This Order will come into operation on 12 January 2022 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 3 days.
It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works. The Order will have a maximum duration of 18 months.

C8 Alton Road (Part), Wilcot; from its junction with Hare Street to its junction with C264. To enable: Wiltshire Council to carry out carriageway retexturing and associated works. Alternative route: via Alton Road (unaffected length), C52, A345, C38, C8 and vice versa. The closure and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.

This Order will come into operation on 24 January 2022 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 for 3 days. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works. The Order will have a maximum duration of 18 months.

Final Minutes on the Parish Council Meeting of November 16th 2021
