Local elections to take place this May – Your parish needs you!

This May there will be election for Parish, Town and Unitary Councils. A number of current councillors are standing down in this parish. It is important that there are enough councillors to make decisions for you, the electorate. So please consider serving your community. There is a webinar being held to inform anyone who is interested on Feb 11th. See here https://www.wiltshire.gov.uk/local-elections for details. The Clerk will also provide information on request.

Parish Council Meeting Tuesday 25th March – 7pm Wilcot Village Hall

Cllrs are summoned to a meeting of the Parish Council at Wilcot Village Hall on Tuesday March 25th 2025 at 7pm.
Residents are welcome to attend, Any questions should be presented to the Clerk at least a week before the meeting.
Please note this year is an election year and anyone wishing to stand for election for this parish should contact the Clerk for information.

Road Closure Sunnyhill Lane January 8th 2025

Temporary Closure of: C269 (Part), Wilcot, Huish, Oare and Pewsey (Ref: TTRO 9963)
Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made an Order to close temporarily to
all traffic:
C269 (Part), Wilcot, Huish, Oare and Pewsey; from its junction with A345 to its junction
with Wick Lane.
To enable: Openreach to carry out to recover pole in verge.
Alternative route: via C269 (unaffected length) – B3087 – A345 and vice versa.
The closure and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.
This Order will come into operation on 08 January 2025 and the closure will be required
between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 for 1 day. It is anticipated that the works will take the
stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained
for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of
the works. The Order will have a maximum duration of 18 months.

Oare School Christmas Fair 2024
Meeting Parish Council on Tuesday November 26th 2024, 7pm at Wilcot Village Hall.

Cllrs are summoned to a meeting of Wilcot and Huish with Oare Parish Council on Tuesday November 26th 2024, 7pm at Wilcot Village Hall.
This meeting will be to set the budget for the next financial year (2025) and to begin to secure funds for future highways works as requested by residents of Oare along the A345. It is hoped that a bid to the Highways Substantive Funds will be submitted at he end of this year for funds for the Bus Shelter improvements at Sunnyhill Lane.
Residents are welcome to make representations, answer questions and give evidence in respect of any item of business included in the agenda. Any representations not to exceed 3 minutes. Matters outside the scope of this particular meeting should be communicated to the Clerk in writing by midday Monday 18th November.
