The Parish Council invite you to join us on a walk around Huish on St Georges Day Sunday April 23rd 2017

Starting at 2pm by the Telephone Box in Huish.  This walk will be more of an amble to hopefully enjoy the Bluebells and Wild Garlic in Gopher Wood.

The walk will be approximately 1 to 1.5 hours long (assuming a moderate walking pace).

Please wear suitable footwear and clothing, abide by the Countryside Code and keep dogs under control. 

Walks are under taken at your own risk

Road Closure – C268 Stowell Park Road (part), Draycot Fitzpayne, Wilcot; from the junction with China Cottages in a northerly direction to junction with C264 Draycot Fitzpayne. Between April 24th a May 3rd (weather permitting) weekdays only between 07-00 and 18-00, for reconstruction of carriageway and surface dressing. Alternative route via China Cottages – C264 Draycot Fitzpayne and vice versa.

Notice is hereby given that the Annual Parish Meeting will be held at Wilcot Cricket Pavilion on Wednesday the 5th of April 2017. The meeting will commence at 7.30pm and will be chaired by the Chairman of Wilcot and Huish Parish Council.

This meeting is for the electors of the Parish and you can contribute to items on the Agenda. The meeting aims to celebrate local activities and debate current issues in the community. This is your meeting; please support it by coming along on Wednesday.

Any member of the electorate can put any item relating to the parish on the Agenda. You can do this either by contacting the Chair ahead of the meeting or at the meeting itself.

Starting at 10am at Wilcot Village Hall and Oare Village Hall. 

Hi vis vests, litter pickers and bags will be provided. 

Refreshments at Wilcot Village Hall at 12 noon.

Please wear suitable footwear and clothing.

Temporary Closure of: C8 (Part) Alton Road / Wilcot Green, Wilcot and Huish (Ref: TTRO 4604) Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made an Order to close temporarily to all traffic: C8 (Part) Alton Road / Wilcot Green, Wilcot and Huish; from a point adjacent to the property ‘Oak Farm’ in a south-easterly direction for a distance of approximately 650m to a point approximately 150m east of its junction with Hare Street. To enable: Wiltshire Council to carry out carriageway reconstruction work, surface dressing, road markings and associated works. Alternative route: via C8 (unaffected length) Alton Road / Alton Priors – C38 Alton Barnes / Honeystreet / The Sands / Broad Street / Hilcott / North Newnton – A345 – C52 Manningford Bruce / Little Abbots – C8 Wilcot Green (unaffected length) and vice versa. The closure and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. This Order will come into operation on 20 February 2017 and it is anticipated that the closure will be required for one day between the hours of 07.00 and 18.00.

Also, Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made an Order to close temporarily to all traffic: Rudge Lane, Oare, Wilcot and Huish; from its junction with C264 Draycott Fitzpayne to its junction with A345. To enable: Wiltshire Council to carry out carriageway reconstruction work, surface dressing, road markings and associated works.

This Order will come into operation on 21 February 2017 and it is anticipated that the closure will be required daily between the hours of 07.00 and 18.00 until 24 February 2017.
