Pewsey Area Board is focussing on Highways at its next public meeting on Monday November 27th at 6-30 pm  in the Bouverie Hall Pewsey.  If you care about your roads and want to express your thoughts please come along.  This is your chance to use you voice for local issues.

Councillors are summoned to a meeting of the Wilcot and Huish with Oare Parish Council on Wednesday September 13th at Wilcot Village Hall at 7pm.

Temporary Closure of: C8 (Part), Alton, Wilcot, Huish and Oare

Temporary Closure of: C8 (Part), Alton, Wilcot, Huish and Oare (Ref: TTRO 8996)

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made an Order to close temporarily to all traffic:
C8 (Part), Alton, Wilcot, Huish and Oare; from its junction with Village Street to its junction with C264.
To enable: Wiltshire Council to carry out urgent reactive patching works for SCRIM defect.
Alternative route: via C8 (unaffected length) – A345 – C38 – C8 (unaffected length) and vice versa.
The closure and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.
This Order will come into operation on 31 October 2023 and the closure will be required between the hours of 07:00 and 19:00 for 1 day. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works. The Order will have a maximum duration of 18 months.

Temporary Closure of: C268 (Part), Wilcot, Huish and Oare

Temporary Closure of: C268 (Part), Wilcot, Huish and Oare (Ref: TTRO 8940)
Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made an Order to close temporarily to all traffic:
C268 (Part), Wilcot, Huish and Oare; from its junction with Manor Farm Road for a distance of approximately 100m in an easterly direction.
To enable: Openreach to carry out safe access required to carriageway box for engineers to provide a service to a customer.
Alternative route: via A345 – C264 – C268 (unaffected length) and vice versa.
The closure and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.
This Order will come into operation on 21 September 2023 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 1 day. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works. The Order will have a maximum duration of 18 months.

Temporary Closure of: Browns Lane and C8 (Part), Alton and Broad Street (Part), North Newnton

Temporary Closure of: Browns Lane and C8 (Part), Alton and Broad Street (Part), North Newnton (Ref: TTRO 8913)
Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made an Order to close temporarily to all traffic:
Phase 1: Browns Lane, Alton; from its junction with C8 for its entire length.
Phase 2: C8 (Part), Alton; from its junction with Browns Lane for a distance of approximately 135m in an easterly direction.
Phase 3: Broad Street (Part), North Newnton; from its junction with Gores Lane for a distance of approximately 80m in a northerly direction.
To enable: Wessex Water to complete cleaning and CCTV surveys of the sewers and other associated works.
Alternative route: via C8 (unaffected length) – Vale Road – Old Hospital Road – A345 – Broad Street (unaffected length) – The Sands and vice versa.
The closures and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.
This Order will come into operation on 25 September 2023 and the closures will be required for 1 day. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works. The Order will have a maximum duration of 18 months.

Road closures C8 (Part), Wilcot; from its junction with Hare Street to its junction with C52. Sept 4 to 14th

Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984
Temporary Closure of: C8 (Part), Wilcot (Ref: TTRO 8917)

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made an Order to close temporarily to all traffic:
C8 (Part), Wilcot; from its junction with Hare Street to its junction with C52.
To enable: Scottish and Southern Power Distribution to excavate joint hole in verge and 5.8 meters of trenching in carriageway and other associated works.
Alternative route: via C52 – C268 – Stowell Road – C8 (unaffected length) and vice versa.
The closure and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.
This Order will come into operation on 04 September 2023 and the closure will be required until 14 September 2023. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works. The Order will have a maximum duration of 18 months.

Cost of Living Fund – a Pewsey Community Area Partnership Initiative for residents of Pewsey Vale

Cost of Living Fund – Request Form 2023

This fund aims to provide short-term one-off support to families or individuals living in the Pewsey Community Area as defined by Wiltshire Council (see villages listed in the footer). Residents may apply for funds for ad hoc items that will alleviate financial constraints and provide breathing space for those applying during this cost of living crisis. This is not means tested. Cash will NOT be offered, only the goods/items needed or where appropriate vouchers. However, the referral will need to be supported by a professional or unrelated person or agent to prevent misuse.  Every request will be considered on its merit. Claims for more than a value of £100 will be the exception. The following is a list of items that is not exhaustive: white goods, IT tablet or laptop , furniture from Cossor’s of Pewsey or KFR Devizes, slow cooker, curtains,  shoes, clothing,  clothes airer, stairgate, highchair, activities for children (for mental health), supermarket vouchers, day out to local farm park (family mental health).
