1864 - Huish Manor Farm
Huish Manor Farmhouse built 1864 to replace the dilapidated thatched house that was on this site. George Young was the tenant farmer at that time. Farming on this site goes back much further. The earliest maps are from 1751.
The lady in the picture is believed to be J B Strong’s sister before she moved into what is now Porch Cottage. Previously two cottages, they were remodelled for Ms Strong’s use.
